Watch our crew at CAW perform a high-quality infrared asphalt repair, using advanced heat technology to deliver smooth, long-lasting patches with minimal disruption.
What is Infrared Asphalt Repair?
Infrared repair is a cutting-edge method that uses infrared heat to soften existing asphalt, allowing it to be reworked and blended with new material. This creates a seamless bond between the old and new pavement, eliminating cold seams and preventing water intrusion that leads to future damage.
The Infrared Heat Repair Process:
1. Heating the Area: We place an infrared heater over the damaged asphalt, heating it to approx. 300–350°F until it becomes pliable.
2. Raking & Conditioning: Once softened, we rake the existing asphalt and add fresh hot mix to restore height, fill voids, or correct drainage.
3. Regrading & Compacting: The blend is leveled and compacted with a vibratory roller or plate compactor to create a smooth, durable surface.
4. Final Touches: The result is a strong, visually clean repair that fuses seamlessly into the surrounding pavement.
Why Choose Infrared Repair?
• Fast and minimally disruptive
• Cost-effective compared to full removal
• No saw cuts or seams
• Ideal for potholes, low spots, cold joints, utility cuts, and more
• Works even in cooler weather, perfect for Colorado conditions
